One of our clients established an asset protection plan using one LLC, registered in 5 states and holding 14 properties. He was looking at maintenance costs of almost $3,000 per year to keep the LLC going in all 5 states, and his properties weren't protected from each other in any way.
By moving his entity out of California, and converting it to a Series LLC, we were then able to break up the properties into a Trust Sandwich and close down the LLC in all 5 states.
