I have said this before and am happy to say it again. Buy Mike's DVD's.
I spent years learning and paying handymen, contractors and pro's to do work (while I watched and learned) and spent tens of thousands of dollars in the process.
There are any number of "how to" books for general use when making different kinds of repairs. I have quite a few black and decker type books but nothing beats actually watching someone explain the repair, tools used and then actually making the repair like Mike's DVDs do.
I do not receive anything for saying this.
Buy Mike's material and you will be able to hit the ground running.
