Berkeley is a strange place--in many, many, many ways. its the only place where I ever saw a building actually acquired by adverse possession (we've all heard about it, but it almost never happens). a friend benefitted from a wealthy lady's eccentricity and lack of interest. imagine acquring a 4-plex in this crazy town free of debt??? that was in 1991 or so.
